Bespoke, hand-engraved monogram for a gentleman’s stationery wardrobe. This cipher was first hand-drawn, going through many phases of sketches and modifications prior to approval. You can see one of the final sketches in our Gallery. Once approved, the finished sketch was engraved, by hand, on one of our signature, half-inch steel dies.

It was then first field-tested in several, custom-mixed inks in various shades and hues of orange. The letters themselves represent three initials, can you see them? The gentleman himself took on his wife’s last name and his own surname is his middle initial. Note that the “G” can also be read as the “D”.

Clever plays on names and personal initials are elements of creating a truly bespoke monogram.
